KIS was established in 2016 to offer a fully personalized online school platform designed to suit each child’s personal interest, special talent and recognizable learning style. The High School exit qualification offered by KIS in partnership with Alpha Omega Academy (USA) is recognized locally and internationally. The Qualification has been placed at level 2 within the Kenya National Qualifications framework and awarded by the Kenya National Qualifications Authority (KNQA) an excellent Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) equivalent.
KIS Students have been admitted to top Universities including: University of Nairobi (Medicine), Seattle Pacific – USA (Journalism & Film), Daystar University (Communication).
The KIS Board is made up of experienced individuals in educational management, curriculum design, technology in education & teacher training.

Dr. Mark Matunga (Chairman): Chairman of The Board – Kilimani International School, A Leading Educationist and Cyber Security Expert, 15 years as Senior Executive at Microsoft and Intel Corporation, President & CEO of Africa Centre for Advanced Technology, Chairman of Cyber Security Institute (Africa, USA & Canada), Co-Founder – NEWI The Women’s Initiative in Education, Founder and Patron of Mark Matunga Kiwa Secondary School, Founder and Patron of Mauta Mixed Secondary School, Founder & Chairman of Mfangano Vocational Training Center, Former Council member of Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD), Former Council member of Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC).
Christine Kanini (Vice Chairperson): Bed(UoN) Lecturer, Thogoto Teachers Training College, over 20 years of Teacher Training.
Dr. Kefa Ogonyo Bosire (Treasurer) (B. Pharm.,MSc (Lond),M.Pharm(UoN),MPhil (SU), Ph.D.(UoN)): Faculty Member, Department of Pharmacology and Pharmacognosy, School of Pharmacy and Ph.D. programs coordinator East Africa Kidney Institute, College of Health Sciences at the University of Nairobi, leader in Medical Education, in the development of online content used in training at the University of Nairobi. Bosire was instrumental in creating a blended model using e-learning to train BSc Nursing at the University of Nairobi and content for other programs. He has over 15 years of homeschooling experience
